Rotorua & Multi-Day Classic Car Tours
Two days or more, accommodation and activities arranged, and the driving handled throughout.
Our half and full day tours cover the Waikato well. What they cannot do is get you to Rotorua, through the geothermal parks and back without either a very long day or a rushed one.
So we run multi-day packages. Accommodation, activities and the driving are all arranged, and you travel between them in a classic car rather than a rental you have to concentrate on.
What a multi-day package includes
- Accommodation booked and paid for as part of the package
- Activities and attraction tickets arranged in advance
- Chauffeur-driven travel throughout in the car of your choice
- A route built around what you actually want to see
- Luggage handled between stops
- Pick up from your home, accommodation or Hamilton Airport
The Waikato to Rotorua run
Hamilton to Rotorua is around 110 kilometres and takes about an hour and twenty minutes, which makes an overnight the natural shape for it. The drive itself goes through Tirau and the Mamaku Ranges rather than straight down a motorway.
The usual pattern is a Waikato day on the way out, an overnight in Rotorua with geothermal parks and cultural experiences the next day, and a scenic route home. Everything in between is negotiable.
Day one
A Waikato tour on the way through. Hobbiton, the Blue Spring and Okoroire all sit on the road east.
Rotorua
Geothermal parks, Māori cultural experiences, the lakes and the Redwoods, arranged around what interests you.
The way home
A different route back, usually through the Waitomo side or over towards Raglan.
Who these suit
Multi-day tours work best for visitors with a few days and no desire to drive, for couples marking an anniversary or a milestone, and for older travellers who want to see a lot without a punishing schedule.
They are priced individually because no two are the same. Tell us how many days you have, what you want to see and what standard of accommodation you are after, and we will put a package together.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you run tours to Rotorua?
Yes, as multi-day packages rather than day trips. Rotorua is about an hour and twenty minutes from Hamilton, which makes an overnight the sensible way to do it properly.
Is accommodation included?
Yes. Accommodation and activities are booked as part of the package, so there is nothing for you to organise.
How much does a multi-day tour cost?
It is priced per trip, because the length, the accommodation standard and the activities all vary. Tell us what you have in mind and we will quote it.
How many days do you recommend?
Two days covers Rotorua comfortably alongside a Waikato day on the way. Three or more lets you add Waitomo or the west coast without rushing.
